Except where the section The Back Doctor Mobile App states otherwise, the practices described in this policy relate to our website. The Back Doctor mobile app collects far less, and that section governs it.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, capitalized terms have defined meanings, including: Account (a unique account created for You to access our Service), Affiliate (an entity under common control), Application (Back Doctor, the software program provided by the Company), Company (referred to as “the Company”, “We”, “Us” or “Our”), Country (California, United States), Device (any device that can access the Service), Personal Data (any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual), Service (the Application or the Website or both), Service Provider (any natural or legal person who processes data on behalf of the Company), Usage Data (data collected automatically), and You (the individual accessing or using the Service).
Types of data collected
Personal Data: While using Our Service, We may ask You to provide Us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify You, including Your email address and Usage Data.
Usage Data: Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service and may include information such as Your Device's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that You visit, the time and date of Your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.
The Back Doctor mobile app
This section applies to the Back Doctor mobile app, published by Watkins Spine Center
(com.Watkinspine.BackDoctor on Google Play, com.Watkins.BackDoctor
on the Apple App Store). Where it differs from the rest of this policy, this section governs
the app.
No account and no personal data
The app has no user accounts and no sign-in. It does not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, date of birth or payment details. It does not access your location, camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, photos or files. It contains no advertising, no analytics and no crash-reporting software.
What is stored on your device
Your program progress — which exercise levels you have completed, your score, and your last-used exercise — is stored only on your own device. It is never transmitted to us or to anyone else.
What is shared when you use connected features
Opening a consultation video, or the WatBot assistant, causes the app to request that content from third parties: YouTube (Google LLC), Vimeo, Chatbase, and watkinsspine.com. Those requests reveal which video or page you chose to open, together with the internet address of your device. This app-activity data is shared so that the feature works, and for no other reason. We do not use it for analytics, advertising, marketing or profiling, and it is not linked to your identity.
On Android, the WatBot assistant and the consultation videos open in your own web browser. Once you leave the app, the privacy policy of the site you are visiting applies.
Health information
The app does not collect, record or transmit any information about your symptoms, your diagnosis or your medical history. Its exercise and consultation content is general information. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for consulting a clinician.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Use of your personal data
The Company may use Personal Data to provide and maintain our Service, including to monitor the usage of our Service; to manage Your Account; for the performance of a contract; to contact You; to provide You with news, special offers and general information; to manage Your requests; for business transfers; and for other purposes such as data analysis and improving our Service.
We may share Your personal information with Service Providers, for business transfers, with Affiliates, with business partners, with other users when You interact in public areas, and with Your consent.
Retention and deletion of your personal data
The Company will retain Your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.
You have the right to delete or request that We assist in deleting the Personal Data that We have collected about You. You may update, amend, or delete Your information at any time by contacting Us.
How to delete your data
You do not need an account, and you do not need the app installed, to ask us to delete your data.
- To erase the progress stored on your device: open the Back Doctor app, go to Settings and tap Reset Progress. Uninstalling the app removes the same data.
- To ask us to delete records relating to your use of the app: email info@watkinsspine.com with the subject line “Back Doctor app data deletion request”. Tell us whether you used the app on Android or on iPhone/iPad, and roughly when — and, if you used the WatBot assistant, the approximate date of that conversation, so we can locate it.
- What happens next: we acknowledge your request within 5 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days, confirming by email. There is no charge and you do not have to give a reason.

What we delete
Any correspondence or support records we hold relating to your use of the app, and any WatBot conversation transcript associated with your request — we will instruct our chat provider, Chatbase, to delete it.
What we cannot delete for you
Playing a consultation video sends a request to YouTube or Vimeo, and those companies keep their own records under their own policies, which we cannot access. You can manage or delete that data directly through Google My Activity and Vimeo's privacy centre.
What we may keep
If the law requires us to retain a particular record — for example, correspondence connected to a legal claim or a regulatory obligation — we will keep only that record, only for as long as the law requires, and we will tell you when we respond to your request.
Security of your personal data
The security of Your Personal Data is important to Us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect Your Personal Data, We cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Children's privacy
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13.
